I got some decent hi-res textures here for everyone. This is also the first time I will be posting free textures here in GDFR. But definitely not the last, as I’m planning to post a series of texture images here starting today. I collected some of these textures free from a lot of places. Most of it I got raw, modified and recreated some of them.
It’s easy to find free textures all over the web, but finding the right one for your project is tough. Most of the time, I have to browse tons of textures all day before finding the right one. Then I will still have to digitally fix some of them to get the right feel before I could really use them for a certain project.
Every texture is unique and can be modified and reinvented in countless ways. Using textures in Photoshop can really add a sense of detail to your work. Depending on the kind of textures you have and how you use them, they can make your piece look more realistic, dramatic, grungy or even bright, pale, or colorful.
Here are ten high-resolution color grunge type of textures I initially gathered and tagged as Color Grunge Album No. 1. More unique sets like these will be posted soon, and hopefully I will be able to supplement it with a Photoshop tutorial using textures. You can download all files from the link provided below.
