A little bit of history and trivia here about multi-monitor display. Did you know that Apple Macs already had dual display feature as early as 1987 on their Macintosh II computers? And Windows support for multiple monitor configurations was added as a standard feature in Windows 98. While the most number of multiple monitors displaying as a single virtual desktop was The LambdaVision display by the University of Illinois at Chicago’s Electronic Visualization Laboratory, with 55 LCD monitors connected to 32 PCs. This results in a 17600 x 6000 pixel display.
