I’m always fascinated by fantasy and science fiction illustrations. I am not a sci-fi and fantasy novel fan, but I always find myself staring in awe and admiration at Asimov science fiction book covers and artworks by known fantasy and sci-fi masters like Fred Gambino, Chris Moore, David Mattingly, Boris Vallejo and Luis Royo.
Fantasy and sci-fi artworks are very inspiring even for non fantasy art fans. You can’t help but admire those magical and sometimes muted colors, the softness and sometimes graininess texture in comparison to contemporary flat colors and harsh lines of regular artworks and designs. Also there’s more calm yet disturbing, and mysterious feeling to them than the harsh, straight-up, and fixated stuff we see a lot everyday.
It’s really beyond our world and beyond words to describe. To better appreciate it, I have gathered some 45 amazing free fantasy and sci-fi art wallpapers for your desktop. These are just some of best out there. I have seen a lot and could have listed much more than 45. But I don’t want to make this one long and bore you scrolling up and down.
