More requests for free InDesign templates, particularly magazine templates are coming in lately, so I decided to share one today. This magazine layout looks more generic, suitably because it’s a template. Although magazine layouts have their own basic rules, it is most of the time effective when appropriately and creatively done out of the box or when you break some rules to make it more interesting. Good magazine layouts are not just good layout designs, every design element contributes their own unique part in making a design an aesthetic success.

This particular template should work with most general purpose magazines and can also be easily adjusted and tinkered for other types of magazine layouts. Due to so many requests I’m receiving for more free InDesign templates especially folders and brochures, I’m throwing away more InDesign templates for free. Previously I shared just one free presentation folder InDesign template, now I’m giving away two more exclusive folder designs. For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: (Ecclesiastes 3:1, ESV).

This seasonal thing is very timely as we approach near the end of winter season, and enter a new cycle of earth’s seasons. It always remind us that God appointed times and seasons for everything, in every place, circumstances, and events in our lives. We may be sad one time and happy afterward. We may be living easily and conveniently this time but some difficult matter gets in our way the next time around. But in every situation, always remember that God has it all under control. We may not see the whole picture for now, but in time we will see all things fall into place according to His purpose.

I know a lot of you folks missed my InDesign template freebies and its been more than two months now since I last shared free InDesign templates here. So here I am once again sharing with you two lovely brochure templates of a Christian church and a travel agency.

Both designs are complete with fonts and images packaged separately. You can of course replace the images with your own and adjust the layout as you see fit. You can also make these templates, as well as all our other templates, work for any industry specific designs. Also included aside from the main InDesign CS4 source file (.indd) is an Interchange CS3 file (.inx) for those who have InDesign CS3 either on PC or Mac.

Most of our freebies here are under under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 3.0 License. But I’m waiving everything for now and giving these freebies to everyone for personal and commercial use. I should have shared this earlier. Because I know most people have already printed or produced their 2010 calendar and should have been distributing them by now. But I would like to share this anyway just in case some of you are still looking for templates or something that you can use to do your own personalize 2010 desk calendar.

What we have here is a desk calendar measuring 15 cm by 15 cm square. It has 24 pages for the 12 months (2 pages per month, front and back) and 2 pages for the cover (front and back). I made two separate files, one for the cover and another for the inside monthly calendar pages. The monthly calendar Illustrator file is neatly layered with one layer for each month which you can just toggle on and off to generate the monthly calendar instead of having separate files for each month.

I made this generic 2010 desk calendar with dummy text and graphics (vector product images) which you can easily replace with your own content. You will also notice the tiger graphic element I included in the design corresponding to the year of the tiger come 2010 according to chinese lunar horoscope. I just figured some of you might like the year of the tiger theme so I included some tiger design on it. But still, the design is so generic that you can transform it to something different as you wish. Honestly, I don’t know how to label or name the title of this post. I wanted to post a complete coffee brochure design like what I shared previously about a coffee shop brochure in “Free InDesign Templates: Brochure and Menu“, but I only have the cover pages. But even if these are just cover pages for a coffee brochure project I’m currently working on, I still decided to share because I know these are nice designs and if you don’t want to use the whole thing, you can still use a lot of design elements from this piece, well actually it’s two pieces of cover artworks in one file. You can use two nicely illustrated cups of coffee, some coffee beans, vector ornaments, some wavy lines, logos, etc. And these are all vector graphics. All design elements are nicely organized in layer so you won’t have a hard time selecting each of them.

Continuing our series of Illustrator templates on business cards, I am sharing three uniquely designed oriental theme folded business cards today. These are part of the design studies I did for a chinese friend which I am now sharing with everyone here in Graphic Design Free Resources.

I have featured mostly one-sided regular business cards here (Free Illustrator Templates: Business Cards and Letterheads, Free Illustrator Templates: Personal Business Cards, Free Illustrator Templates: More Personal Business Cards – Set 2), so I thought it’s time we move on to the next level and do something that will stand out from the rest, something like these folded business cards oriental style.

Shown below are the three designs we have in this set. The first one shown I did some 3D rendering just to show you how it’s going to look like when folded. All three files have proper cropping marks with adequate bleeding for background images. I was about to make more free brochure templates today but I ended up doing greeting cards instead. Maybe a lot of people I know are celebrating birthdays and other occasions these days. So I made four special designs that you can easily customize to create your own greeting card. You can even make it folded type, with these designs on front and your special message inside. A front and back design is also neat where you can just place your message at back.

Nothing feels more special than receiving special customized greeting cards rather than those ready made ones that you can buy anywhere.
